I have a Plextor 16/10a burner. I had no problem turning on DMA using Win98 SE. I installed XP and also upgraded the Plextor's firmware from 101 to 104. I also did a bios upgrade on my Asus P3BF MB from 104 to 106. Now I can't get the bios to lock in DMA for the Plextor. It will only show PIO4. I can put in Ultra DMA2, but it will not save it, it reverts back to PIO4 only. I see a definate slowdown using the drive. I have emailed Asus, and Plextor 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything from them. Help!!
