Media Player Classic incompatible?

Media Player Classic incompatible?

Postby barryyam » Tue Apr 08, 2008 8:03 am

When I play RMBV with Media Player Classic I get this message "The colour scheme have been changed to Window Vista Basic". Playing other files is ok. Is MPC incompatible?

Cheers.

It's incompatible with the Windows Desktop Management component (AKA Aero), but not with Vista per se

Thanks for the quick respond. I try in on Vista Home Basic and I get the same problem too. I think
its not Aero that cause the problems.

Any others help?

It may be the codec that is causing it to do that and not media player classic. I have played several videos in it and a few change the theme to windows basic for me, but most don't do anything.

Yeah I do believe it is the codec
Check around the program settings though there may be an option to disable it
I know BeyondTV would do that and if you go to advanced settings you can change it to keep on areo

I've found video playback with players that aren't WMP to be hit or miss. Sometimes it doesn't do anything, other times, I'll do something simple, such as open up Firefox or another program at the same time, and the Glass effect disappears. I haven't noticed it though for some time, so I don't know if patches for Vista fixed the issue or there was a change in software, codecs, or hardware (upgraded my RAM) that "fixed" it for me.
