Ctrlpan.dll ... Eliminating the Virus

Ctrlpan.dll is a nasty virus which will totally screw up programs involving IE. It can reset your homepage, add shortcuts to your favorites, and drive your Virus Program crazy.

Symantec Corporate nor Nortan Antivirus can remove it, or quaranteen it.

So I found this nifty little site (Computer Cops)... and they say to use this tool to remove it:

:download: CWShredder

Sure enough, it worked. :notworthy

Yup, Cool Web is really nasty. Try SpywareBlaster It sets a killbit, so you only run it when there's an update. The Jan update had 3 CWS entries in it. It now blocks 1062 items. Better to stop it instead of cleaning.

Thanks Augie, I appreciate that link. I'd forgotten about them. I use Adware but it doesn't always do the trick.

I'm just glad to be rid of that thing from CoolWeb. I warned my family as well about it.

Thanks again.
