A8N-E problems

:confused
My wifes ASUS A8N-E is dealing me fits. I have forgotten what started me to initiate the process of re-installing XP on her computer, but it is driving me crazy. I got it to install went through all the updating of this and that, then I.E would crash about every other time you tried to use it. :-x I tried different network adapter drivers, still the same thing.
So then I thought I would be cute and try something completely different, and thought I would create a Raid 0 array, that seemed to work, but then after it finished installing I could only get into it via safemode, and not normal boot. :no
Now I am in the process of formatting the harddrive and starting all over. If this doesn't work I am going to try using a IDE drive

I have the same board Dan, I wish I could help you. Perhaps the OS is getting corrupted from faulty RAM? Just fishing here. Oh, and I haven't updated to SP3 yet. This is upto date as of last June using a RyanVM install disk, new install as of a couple of weeks ago.

I have tried installing every variety, flavor, and what have you of XP. I have tried installing from a CD and DVD.
It installs all the way and then when I go to install the network adapter, audio etc. from the MB disc, there is when I run into the biggest problems. Without the network adapter drivers I obviously can't update windows. I am going to give up for now because it is making me very irritable, and set my wife up on another machine that has XP on it for now.

Yeh, those motherboards turned out to be pretty unstable, and non-future-proof :(
