Windows 10 – New information
Re: Windows 10 – New information
Ian, its good seeing you here again, hope all is well.
Installed on a SSD it must be smoking fast.
Note: I undid the registry tweak as MS (employee) posted that one would not be able to get the update versions if these changes were made.

Good job.
Today MS released build 9860 update that is installed thru PC Settings/Update & Recovery/Preview builds.
Mine started downloading & auto installed once I clicked on the Download Now button.
My Dl was fast (8 min.)
My install took awhile - 1 hour, 27 minutes (incl. 2 restarts) to hit the desktop.
After the upgrade there is a large "Windows.old" folder on the "C" drive.
All my settings & stuff were still there, except I lost my internet connection on VMware so I cannot test upgrading on those TP installs.

Re: Windows 10 – New information
I uninstalled VMware, restarted the PC then installed VMware workstation again, amazingly the old OS installs were still there & working, I even got the internet again which is what I was after.
Upgraded the Enterprise install using the TP10 choices & now have the Enterprise x64 build 9860 installed & running in VMware.

I went to where one is to go to update, and it gave me the message it was up to date, I left to use the rest room, came back and it was in the process of updating to build 9860 lol

Re: Windows 10 – New information
Excellent
I did a non-insider update of Enterprise & it worked fine, it appears it doesn't matter if one signed-up as a insider or used their local account.
Here is a video of build 9860 Bravo made.
The 9860 animations are nice.

Re: Windows 10 – New information
I have the computer with windows 10 Technical Preview on it turned off so I have to wait till I get home to do the update, if it were on I could do it remotely from my iPad with a free program I found called TeamViewer

Re: Windows 10 – New information
The update download took 8 minutes & the install took another 48 minutes on my desktop.
When I ran run/cleanmgr + ok & selected everything (incl. system files)
it said it was saving me 4+ GB of space but when done the before & after on My PC (C drive) was only 2.4 GB
