New Intel CPU- can I keep my current heatsink/fan?
I have been using a Pentium 4 540 for around 3 years, using a Coolermaster rr-umr-p9u1 heatsink/fan. It has a very good all copper heatsink, and at the time, went up to a P4 570 in terms of guarantee.
I am now in the process of buying a new Core 2 Duo CPU, and I will probably buy it second hand at Computer Exchange (CEX) or eBay. My question is- will I still be able to use my current heatsink/fan? Has anyone used the rr-umr-p9u1 with C2D or C2Q CPUs?
Thanks
