Who REALLY Developed VistaBootPRO

Initial Project idea of putting bcdedit.exe and subsequent commands into an application. VTPRO is VistaTweakPRO, the first program PROnetworks developed for Windows Vista.

Initial Program Conception

According to Computer Guru: "When VistaBootPRO was first released, the agreement was that the Computer Guru (NeoSmart Technologies’ founder) would receive full and unrestricted credit/rights as VistaBootPRO’s original author, creator, and maintainer; whereas PROnetworks would retain the copyright and sole publication rights to VistaBootPRO." Source
The Truth: Computer Guru states that "VisualBCD" (VistaBootPRO later) is being developed for Hanger 19 (part of PROnetworks) with the help of Jason (JMacalinao) and other members of PROnetworks

VisualBCD

According to Computer Guru: He is the sole author of the program
The Truth: Computer Guru and Jason (JMacalinao) working together more on the coding

Jason Helping

According to Computer Guru: He is the sole author of the program
The Truth: Again, Computer Guru stating what parts of the application Jason (JMacalinao) worked on. Also agreeing on what the program should be named

CG working with Jason

According to Computer Guru: He came up with the program originally
The Truth: Graham (Grav!ty) posting possible names for the program

Rename of the Program

According to Computer Guru: He is the sole author of the program
The Truth: A third time of Computer Guru posting that Jason (JMacalinao) has provided code to the project

CG posting someone helped with coding

According to Computer Guru: He is "VistaBootPRO’s original author, creator, and maintainer"
The Truth: But, Computer Guru is thanking Graham (Grav!ty) and Julian (JabbaPapa) for help, stating that he was working with Jason (JMacalinao) on the code and asking for more help from Julian (JabbaPapa) and Hanger 19 Members

Getting help from others

VisualBCD

According to Computer Guru: he is the sole author of VistaBootPRO and that PROnetworks is only for publishing it on the internet
The Truth: Computer Guru states that it is a PROnetworks Application

According to Computer Guru: he is the sole author of VistaBootPRO
The Truth: Jason (JMacalinao) adding to the program code some more

Others Helping

According to Computer Guru: He is "VistaBootPRO’s original author, creator, and maintainer"
The Truth: He is talking with Graham (Grav!ty) about the final program name and agreed upon VistaBootPRO

According to Computer Guru: The copyright belongs to PROnetworks for VistaBootPRO
The Truth: He attempts to put his own Copyright, Support, and Publisher information into the program

NOTE: Screenshots were for the upcoming release of VistaBootPRO 1.1

Computer Guru also attempted to misrepresent the connection between himself, his company (NeoSmart Technologies), and PROnetworks with the release of VistaBootPRO. Instead of stating that it was himself that programed VistaBootPRO (although he wasn't the sole author), he made it seem like PROnetworks and NeoSmart Technologies teamed up on the release and were affiliated, when, in fact, they were not affiliated and NeoSmart Technologies was not the author, it was Computer Guru.

NeoSmart Technologies and PROnetworks have officially opened the Vista programming season with the release of the first-ever true tweakware for Vista, in the form of a visual boot loader modification tool that can do everything from adding OSes & renaming entries, to backing up and restoring old images! Bye-Bye BCDedit!
Source

According to Computer Guru: "written from scratch without so much as a peek at the old code" Source
The Truth: The program is not written from scratch and much of the code is from what was going to be released as VistaBootPRO 1.1 and there are several instances throughout what could be found in EasyBCD where nearly identical code was used for equivalent functions

EasyBCD Code for adding a new entry:

Run.InvisibleRun(BCDedit, String.Concat("/set ", ID, " osdevice partition=", Value)); Run.InvisibleRun(BCDedit, String.Concat("/set ", ID, " device partition=", Value));
VistaBootPRO 1.0 Code for Adding a new entry:
InvisiRun.Run(BCDloc, "/set " & IdentiList(RenameList.SelectedIndex) & " device partition=" & Drive.Text) InvisiRun.Run(BCDloc, "/set " & IdentiList(RenameList.SelectedIndex) & " osdevice partition=" & Drive.Text)
EasyBCD Code for changing the OS Description:
Run.InvisibleRun(BCDedit, String.Concat(new string[]{"/set ", ID, " description \"", Value, "\""}));
VistaBootPRO 1.0 Code for changing the OS Description:
InvisiRun.Run(BCDloc, "/set " & IdentiList(RenameList.SelectedIndex) & " description " & ChrW(34) & TextBox1.Text & ChrW(34))

Breach of Digital Copyright Act

Under Copyright law (and you can look it up) provided by the Digital Copyright Act, no program that is even REMOTELY similar to VistaBootPRO can be released by you or any third party. It doesn’t matter if you change the code a little here and there (don’t tell me you rewrote it, we checked), the name, or even the GUI. The application mirrors the exact functions of VistaBootPRO. You may very well be an author (one of many) of the program (or you were, PRO has since rewritten he application from scratch), but you did not come up with the concept, the plan, or implement this on your own. Any rights you had to this program were forfeited when you signed an NDA at our site. Therefore VistaBootPRO, and any application similar in nature, including your new EasyBCD, is a copyright violation. VistaBootPRO and the copyright of this application belong to Hawaiian Style Organization, LLC and to PROnetworks.

Also, Computer Guru abused the PM System in order to attempt to drive traffic and members from PROnetworks to his own website and forum, as can be seen on this page
