On Monday
I announced the unveiling of a brand new official site, poster, and trailer for
Lost Dream.
Twilight's Michael Welch stars in this first feature from writer/director/editor Asif Ahmed. The brilliant ensemble cast also includes Shaun Sipos (
The Grudge 2, Comeback Season), Jeremy London (
Mallrats, Party of Five, 7th Heaven), and Patricia Richardson (
Home Improvement, Strong Medicine).
While readers of this blog have been able to keep up with production news about
Lost Dream, the opportunity to actually
see it is what interests me (and my readers) the most, and now the public can attend a very special screening.
Producers Reel Energy Entertainment have announced that the NewFilmmakers LA festival has selected
Lost Dream for its Red Carpet Premiere on May 7th. Designed to showcase innovative works by emerging filmmakers from around the world, many well known films have debuted at NewFilmmakers including
Blair Witch Project. The event will take place at the Stanley Kramer Theater in Hollywood.
“When casting our two leads we found two of the most impressive up-and-coming actors in the city,” said producer Mae Nekoba, referring to Welch and Sipos. Writer/director Asif Ahmed conceived
Lost Dream while attending college. The original script served as his senior thesis, "and still reflects the alienation and youthful yearning so many young people experience during this period; all set against the universal themes of political, social, and personal evolution," the filmmakers said in a statement.
There will be a limited number of tickets available to the general public at the
NewFilmmakers LA official site. The event will include a Red Carpet VIP screening and reception. Cast and crew will also participate in a Q&A after the screening.
