DRIGGS, Idaho (AP) _ The woman who starred as Mary Ann on the television show ''Gilligan's Island'' is serving a six-month probation for her arrest last fall in eastern Idaho. Dawn Wells, 69, was taken into custody after being caught with marijuana in her vehicle while driving home after a surprise birthday party on October 18th.

Wells pleaded guilty as part of a deal last month to one count of reckless driving. In exchange, prosecutors dropped three misdemeanors for driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. Police reports show she was pulled over by a Teton County Sheriff deputy who claims Wells' car swerved several time on State Highway 33.

Police reports show deputies seized four half-smoked joints and two small cases used to store marijuana from the vehicle. Defense attorney Ron Swafford says a friend of Wells' voluntarily testified that he had left a small amount of marijuana in the car after using the vehicle earlier in the day.

Come on, there are much more important crimes out there then for busting someone for having marijuana for their personal use. Maybe the world would be a better place if everybody just smoked a blunt and chill and just relax.

Marijuana is way less dangerous than alcohol. Until it's treated as such, or while booze remains legal and weed illegal, it's not good enough for me.

I believe that Marijuana is way less dangerous than alcohol. Until it's treated as such, or while booze remains legal and weed illegal, it's not good enough for me.

Hi everyone

I am a new member and really would appreciate some advice. for past two years I have been befriending an alcoholic. It really has been the most tragic story - this lady was only 52 and a doctor also. Anyway I have been to see her practically every day for past two years. She died suddenly last week.

The post mortem showed she died of liver failure. What I would like to know is ..................and this is what is torturing me. When I found her she was sitting in exact same position I had left her in. Also going on what she had drunk since I had last saw her day before - tells me she has died probably an hour or so after I left...... What actually happens when someone dies of liver failure? I have been torturing myself that she would have been in agony or having some sort of seizure/attack?

I am so sorry to be so morbid but this is tearing me apart. She only had me. She had more money than all my family and friends put together but she had nothing. She was terrified of life.
Regards, Richardson

Celebrity is a great weight one must carry around. Turning to drugs is what most famous people do. We, the ordinary people, have lots of problems ourselves but we keep a clear head and go trough them as well as we can. Stars believe it's their right to use drugs and stain their names just because they're allowed to. Ending up in a drug rehab program isn't the best type of publicity one could care for. But then again, there's no such thing as bad publicity, is there?

LOL she looks totally spaced out in that pic. One would think that otherwise seemingly respectable folk would at least have the common sense to restrict their use of alcohol and recreational drugs to home. Besides being safer for other road users, it would keep them out of trouble with the law.
