AMD IS reportedly collaborating with developers to create a new generation of DirectX 10.1 game titles for the ATI Radeon HD 3000 and 4800. Project participants include Electronic Arts Phenomic, SEGA and NHN Games. According to Chris Southall of SEGA, "AMD's enthusiastic commitment to new standards such as DirectX 10.1 in the ATI Radeon HD 4800 series is helping us develop a game [Stormrise] which looks better and runs faster than on previous platforms".
Dirk Ringe, VP of EA Phenomic agreed. "With Battleforge, EA is pushing the boundaries of the real-time strategy genre introducing social and community technologies to deliver a whole new online experience. DirectX 10.1 and AMD's graphics technology will enable [the game] to look its absolute best". AMD recently recently unveiled a DirectX Ping Pong demo that showed off new lighting techniques and a scalable physics simulation.
