PS.

To install Windows XP, (I forgot to mention this, but it is like kicking an open door) you need a Windows XP installation CD. If you use a cracked version than you may have problems downloading future upgrades (but there probably won't come that many more updates). If you do not have a cracked version than you need an original version. Unfortunately it has to be a cd that hasn't been used before, as you can/may only use such a cd for one PC.

I do not wish to promote illegal software, but you should be able (using bittorent or something else) to find such a cd on the internet.

Ofcourse I must say that you may not use such an illegal version, but you might try to see if all works before you buy it.

Hi Rajeev,

If you install VistaBootPro and if you use the guide found at http://www.pronetworks.org/forum/about92429.html than you should be able to install Windows XP on your DELL computer. (Getting all drivers for this computer for XP might be a problem, but you should be able to run windows XP, but for instance your soundcard may not work if you cannot find it's driver. Getting the correct videodriver may also be difficult as it may have multiple names, but google is your friend in this matter)

VistBootPro is free and I found it to work perfectly. The Windows Vista partition remains as it is, so I think you might give it a try.

Goodluck

I have just purchased DELL CORE-2 QUAD system with 3 GB RAM and 250 GB harddisk with pre-installed WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM. I have HPSCANJET 3300C which does not work in WINDOWS VISTA, nor does it auto-detect. Is there a way out to run this scanner directly in WINDOWS VISTA? If not, how to install WINDOWS XP without disturbing the orginality of the system and have a dual boot. This scanner works fine in WINDOWS XP.

LS,

I just found out that http://www.pronetworks.org/forum/about92429.html

indeed overcomes my first problem. I can now during boot select Vista or XP.

Despite I lost all my data on my USB stick I'm still gratefull.

Kind regards,

LS,

I tried to log into the forum but I only get a white screen?

I have two problems using VistaBootPro 3.3.

On my new Toshiba notebook that comes with Vista Home I made some room on my drive and installed Windows XP + Service Pack 2. Than I installed your VistaBootPro. The computer would only boot XP. I ran your software it complained about a backup for the BCD which I performed. (It still keeps complaining about not having made a backup)Than I choose to install the Vista Boot Loader. But when I tried to activate this the software complained the I hadn't chosen a drive. As I thought only one drive was active on the system I choose all drives. Now I was able to re-install the Vista Boot Loader.

After a reboot, Windows Vista started up. When I press F8 I can choose An older Windows (which is my XP), but it will come with an error that I need to re-install my windows.
When I installed your software under Vista I was able to
Change the bootloader back to non-vista. And now XP boots.

So I can (using your software) change the windows that will load during boot. But using the Vista bootloader I cannot press F8 and choose older Windows?? This will result as mentioned in an error.

Is there a way around this?? Pressing F8 and choosing Vista or XP is the best way. If it is not possible, I than will still be able to select my windows, but it requires a bit more handling.

However I have a second problem.

When I choose ALL DRIVES, I didn't realise I had my USB-stick plugged in. Which functions ofcourse as a drive.

I can no longer read data from this USB-stick. When I plug in this USB stick I no longer get readable maps, the map names now consist of non-readable characters.

Luckily no really important data was on this stick, but you may perhaps want to look into this as others may not be so fortunate.

Is there a way to make my stick readable again??

I expect not.

Kind regards,

Donald,

In order to view the apply button you will need to change your screen resolution. When you do please exit out of VBP so when you reopen it will be able to correctly layout the application.

I will have someone check also on your confirmation email if you haven't received it yet.

Thanks,
Jason

Downloaded this Vista Boot Pro to help me solve an Ide to Sata migration fault, where the sata drive wont boot unless the master ide is still attached, but this VBP wont load?...

I downloaded it...installed it... clicked the icon and nothing, it shows in task manager as running, but nothing on screen... I get the pop up warning screen saying, Administrator rights etc and accept all that... so its not me...

Using Vista Ultimate 64 bit....??

Installed VistaBootPRO 3.3. Clicked on System Bootloader Maintenance tab, checked the Windows vista bootloader radio button, checked system bootloader option - all disks; but, no Install Bootloader button appears at bottom of window. Actually, it seems window is too small, and there is no scroll available. Can't install bootloader.
