There were some other things too: a t-shirt with various Windows and x64 logos on it, a jacket with "x64 Raise The Speed Limit" patch on the front (that was basically our unifom for the 2 day of x64 festivities), a bumper sticker "x64," a little USB drive, and assorted little goodies. And it all came in a silver attache case (like the ones in "Men In Black").

We were all pretty shocked.

You can watch the Keynote in WMV format at this link. We had special seating a few rows back from Bill G. I was surprised at how quiet the crowd was. But our group did some hootin' and hollerin'.

You can also watch the tape of the Keynote HERE. The Longhorn presentation is towards the end.

i must have missed part of this earlier. The graphics card could be a 6800, but it's not an ultra. I haven't seen a 6800 Ultra yet that didn't take up 2 rear expansion slots on the case due to the massive heat sink that it takes. also, when looking at the card, there is only one power connector where the 6800 ultra has two power connectors. it's likely a 6800GT the way that it looks as i've seen more of them with the dual DVI out connectors than the regular 6800's, but either way it's still a rediculously good graphics card for free.

Ya, I'm not sure what it is. Some people who got it said it was a 6600, some said 6800, I've seen it mentioned on the net as being both a 6600 and 6800...and apparently you need some kind of adapter to use it and they didn't give us the adapter. I'm not complaining, but I'm not sure I can use it.

Larry, I heard it's a SLI GC -- but what SLI does is it just lets you set up two PCI express cards on the same mobo, so what you have is a standalone PCIex GC that is usually sold in pairs - ie I think they gave you a very nice gift :yesnod: .

You should be able to use the card as a standalone PCI express GC (at least that's what I read in the ASUS trade mag ... :whistle )

The adaptor would let you set up two of these cards into a SLI config, I think ? :question
