Windows (code name) Blue - New information
Re: Windows (code name) Blue - New information
Another day, another (MSU) leak. This one is - 9600.17025.amd64fre.winblue_gdr.140214-1706
I installed it over the last leak in VMware, its running quite good.
*Will probably wait for the RTM before doing any DBP or app testing.
*Sounds like the RTM (leak) isn't to far off.

Re: Windows (code name) Blue - New information
From the newly leaked: Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK) for Windows 8.1 Spring 2014 Update
in the .chm file it mentions a new Windows 8.1 release.
Windows 8.1 with Bing
"Windows 8.1 with Bing is a new Windows edition that helps OEMs add Windows to low-cost devices while driving end user usage of Microsoft Services such as Bing and OneDrive. Windows 8.1 with Bing is similar to other editions of Windows and should be imaged, updated, and deployed the same as any other Windows edition."

Guess we all knew this would happen (RTM leak), but from MS
Windows 8.1 update leaks to the web, direct from Redmond
Summary: The much-anticipated Windows 8.1 spring update, released to manufacturing days ago and due for public distribution in early April, leaked to the web early. The source isn't a shady Eastern European download site but Microsoft's own Windows Update servers.

Re: Windows (code name) Blue - New information
Yes but from what I'm hearing its 99% final RTM.
A copy is a bit of a misnomer as there are several steps to install it WZor made it/them available in one chunk but one needs to follow the install instructions carefully.
Check WZors page:
FEBRUARY 26, WINDOWS 8.1 SPRING UPDATE 2014 SIGN-OFF GOLD RTM.
GOLD RTM BUILD: 6.3.9600.17031.WINBLUE_GDR.140221-1952
is now final and Signed Off
http://wzor.net/22986.html
I did the 5/6 steps that were posted before WZOr made his large chunk available, mine came from MS using a DL code/url to snag them. I tested it in VMware & had no problems at all, I did install it over the last update #17025 though.

Re: Windows (code name) Blue - New information
I haven't tried yet but from what I've read one cannot upgrade from Windows 8.0 to 8.1s2014 w/o problems.
They are recommend upgrade from 8.1 to 8.1s2014
