Windows Anti-Virus--Anyone try it yet?

Postby Synaptic » Wed Dec 14, 2005 5:49 am

Yeah, It's a bit strange... Microsoft doesn't charge for Firewall, Anti-Spyware and Windows Update but wants to charge for it in this package, with the addition of Anti-Virus. Perhaps M$ thinks it can also make Anti-Spyware paid as well (the current versions also have avtivation expiry dates)

But really, after testing it and installing it, It's more like a whole lot of Windows Utilities rolled into one user interface, with a price tag. It's antivirus is slow and doesnt give you any control over what it's doing.

Advice for anyone who knows remotely what's going on with Windows:- Save your money for Symantec Antivirus Corp.

Been using One CAre now for about two weeks, seems to be ok. Run the virus check now twice, seems to take just as long as everyone else.
I like the tune up feature to do all at once.
But if you do, you have to back up at the same time or get the yellow.

So far has not caught any virus and search the web almost everyday.
Easily updates.
