I looked around & could not find a answer to that

It does appear that Vista is the groundwork for the next OS though as you mentioned.
I wonder when we will see the MinWin Kernal though.

Is MinWin really the new Windows 7 kernel?

Nice! It's closer to what we saw demonstrated at WinHEC 2007 but still not quite as 3D.
