Well, this sports season isn't looking or ending to bright for us shamecock, oh I mean GameCock fans.
We finished 5-7 in Football with no bowl bid (while watching the team we beat in the Outback Bowl 2 years prior win the National Championship.)
Then our basketball team won 4 straight. Then lost about 8 straight, won 2 straight, lost 7 straight... and lost to I think all but 1 or 2 SEC teams in the end. Sooo not that bright for them. The women were still in the NCAA playoffs last I heard. They could easily beat the mens team. :lalala
Then we have the baseball team that was in the National Championship last year, who have now lost 7 straight. Uhhh oook, same players, what gives?
And then we look back to football this Fall. Well let's see. Charlie Strong, probably one of the best Def. Coordinators in the Country left for the Gators, our passing offense coordinator left, and that leaves us with Lou and Skippy. This should be interesting, seeing as when they disagree we lost to Georgia, Tennessee, and almost Kentucky. So umm WORK together. Oh, but that's right, we lost nearly the whole front line, and still don't have a good QB or RB. Yikes... watch out Vandy, cause that's about all we'll be smakin this semester.
Then we go back to basketball where the "good" players we did have do that little thing called Graduation, soooo yeaaah ummm watch out non-conference teams ... "insert sarcastic phrase here."
Yeah it's not a good time to be a gamecock. I guess it comes with the years. We just get a lot of the bad ones. Well hey, Clemson's not doing a whole lot better. Basketball was a flop, Football was a flop (they beat us to get to a bowl.. woohoo... then got smushed into kitty cream by the Turps). And their baseball season is toped with a win over Carolina... again, wooohooo.
Kinda makes me wonder which team to pull for, and then I remember how much I like Hawai'i's Warriors, who unfortunately are in the worst devision outside the sunbelt, the WAC. Another wooohooo? Well, so much for being a sports fanatic.
I'm starting to like Georgia though... LOL
