I want to drive the Alaskan Highway someday, probably after I retire. The only reason I got to Hawaii, was R&R, and then on the military pay, I got to experience very little of what was there. I probably found the seediest and cheapest bars there though.

LOL. I guess I had my diff reasons for going to Hawaii. I still am not 100% why it had the affect it did on me... but sometimes I don't even think about that anymore. I just go with the flow. It's definately changed my life.

The Alaska Highway is great. If you drive the whole way like we did it really puts it in perspective... especially if you think how far some of the folks went for the Gold in the goldrush.

Make sure after you drive it you get one of those T-shirts that says, "I survived the Alaska Highway." I got mine hanging on my wall, lol. It's a rough road... get's torn up a lot, and there are more RV's from Florida than a RV lot, but the drive is one in a million. It'll stay with you forever.

Man I miss that now that I'm thinking back on it... the wild side of American/Canada. And by wild I mean wild.... untouched world.

Tuktoyaktuk close but no cigar for me, a really wild place is Eureka on Elsmere island, collected rose rocks there (super engorged calcite crystals).
