What is MSREDIST

I am just wondering if anyone knows what MSREDIST is, i have tried to install Nortan 2004 onto my computer and it keeps coming up with an error saying that it has falled to install, and then i have tried to install paint shop pro 8 to my comp and that says that there is any error in my MSREDIST and it can't install?

Does anyone know what all of this means?????

Welcome caddys This may help with your problem I found it on the symantec site and it deals with what you are describing.

i tried it and it came up with the same thing.
