This firewall is purportedly x64 compatible and it does install in x64XP, however, I don't see anything really familiar in the GUI...... I am very familiar and comfortable with ZA firewall, but this Ghostwall is a very different animal............. :-?

I ran Ghost for a while on my x64 system and to be honest, I don't think it did anything ! OK, I'm behind a router / firewall so shouldn't see too much anyway but the SW never reported anything to me so either (a) it doesn't do much, (b) I wasn't the victim of any attacks or

Heh, I was about to ask about this as well, as I was looking up XP 64 firewalls since I was sick of that balloon (I know, I can turn it off, but still...). I ended up just turning on the XP firewall. I figure it's better than nothing. I tried Tiny Personal Firewall for XP 64, and it just wouldn't load properly and caused BSODs at boot.

I've been using x64 for about 2 years with just the Windows Firewall. I don't really think you need more if you have a hardware router.

Cool, that's great info; I was just curious as I sort of saw the same thing with Ghostwall not providing any "feedback" to me on what it was doing...... or not..........

There is a beta ZoneAlarm for x64. There is also AVG Plus Firewall which has been out for awhile.

a beta zone alarm was released as an open beta some time ago, but it wasn't very stable and they removed it shortly after, since then i haven't heard anything about x64 support :(

there was also a thread on kaspersky internet security, which was supposed to be x64 compatible now, but i haven't tried it myself

at the moment i'm beta testing Agnitum Outpost Firewall for x64 ;)

Yeah ZoneAlarm pulled the download of the X64 Beta some time back.

Off Topic: Congrats on your new system Pyr0. That is one kicka** of a machine you've got there. I'd really like to know what sort of 1 MB SuperPI time you get on that puppy :harley:
