What do you guys think of IE 7?
I was very excited when I saw this. IE7 finally allows IE to use pure css menus with classes such as "li:hover", as well as fixing "position:fixed", as well as fixing the position of the background in elements other then body. Bring CSS3 to IE as well, use: ":nth-last-child(),::after,::before." What makes it even better? It's a server-side upgrade!
The lightweight script is a single-line inclusion in your HTML/XML document. No alteration of your original markup is necessary. Neither do you have to alter your CSS

Sorry for sounding so excited, but I love this idea. I know you might not use IE, but It fixes things I really wished I could have in IE, since 90% percent of people use it now. Check it out, what are your opinions on this project?

Neh, the screen shots I've seen of longhorn say IE 6.05, maybe they'll change it later in production. This guy almost certainly doesn't work for microsoft, but I'm impressed how easily he pulled this off, it's just a javascript files, you'd think microsoft would have this over and done if it was that easy, especially with all the crap they take about the stuff this fixes.
Anyway the name of the script (IE 7) is just for hype, I have been wondering what he will do when microsoft actually makes internet explorer 7. I guess just change the name.
I wonder if any big websites use CSS extenders like this script. Anyone know? I'm still just fascinated by this, you'd think it would be more popular.

IE is the target for hackers. Its a very bad idea to use it any way, My buddy was looking for nes roms on my computer using IE 6 (he should have been using netscape or foxfire which are installed) and one website tried to upload a virus just bringing up the main page, lucky I had an up to date virus scanner to prevent it, I'd think that IE 7 will be just as much a target for security exploits as any other version is.

True, but at least IE 7 fixes CSS problems. I was wondering that though, whether the add in introduces any additional security holes, but since it's just a javascript file, I doubted it could.
As for IE 7, the actual browser, I don't know it will be any better, but you have to admit that sp2 is a start in the right direction.

SP2 might fix a lot of problems but it is new code too. This may cause problems. What if it fixes services that you never use but breaks one that you do use?
by the way sorry bout the avatar, i will make it smaller.
