I got a free trial subscription to eMusic which gave me 25 free downloads. Most of what they offer I never heard of but it allowed me to find some interesting new music I might not have otherwise.

Here are some of the artists I discovered (or knew about but just didn't have in my collection):

Arcade Fire
Big Star
Bowling for Soup
Candy
Cheepstakes
Chewy Marble
Shout Out Louds
Super Furry Animals
Teenage Fanclub
The Get Up Kids
The Nines
The Pixies
The Records

Some are current or recent bands, some old and defunct, some American, some foreign. What they all have in common is the powerpop/punk sound I love. If you like Fall Out Boy, All-American Rejects, Simple Plan, Blink-182, The Smithereens, Elvis Costello, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, etc. you'll probably like these bands.

I just heard this band on Craig Ferguson's show and really liked them! There's some Irish influence here I believe.

Can You Tell

If you liked that then here's a whole set. ^*^

Noise Pop 2009

BTW, checkout Wolfgang's Vault, lot's of nice gems in there that I had completely forgotten about and many that I never knew. The feed is half decent too. :yesnod: One has to register though.

Here's something ^*^ I just got turned on to, Kings of Leon. Darn good album and a commercial success too.

Some good, new to me, blues singer. Saw her on Ferguson last night. Bettye Lavette

Another new one I got, this time on Letterman. Very complex and eclectic. I just love her! Listened to some others of her on YT and was great! However, not for everybody. St. Vincent
