**WARNING*** NIGERIAN/VENUS FLY TRAP EXTANT
Hi All,
On 10.21.05 I got a newsletter from a newsgroup I participate in containing an URL pointing to an article about Nigerian Scams. I fell for it and clicked on the URL; not only was the article old, out of date, but it's main purpose was to collect email addresses for phishing.
CLICK ON IT AT YOUR OWN PERIL. Don't unless you really know what you're doing and are well protected.
Within the hour I got a spurious email bill from "PayPal" for a gold watch bracelet(I wear no timepieces), which I reported to <spoof@paypal.com>. They confirmed that the email was a forgery and a phish. I also reported the Venus Flytrap to Blue Security and Spamcop.
Be careful out there; the cretins have escalated their scams by combining 2 malware elements.
Hope this saves someone a little trouble.

Whoever posted that should be banned , if that's possible. I don't use newsgroups.

I've warned the newsgroup, the Quattro List, and the poster's username is obviously fake: <mraudi@yahoo.com>. The cretin is probably posting the same message to lots of other big newsgroups; ergo, I posted the warning message.
Augie, please see that this warning is widely posted on ProNetworks; it won't be if someone moves it to the end of the Nigerian Scam thread.
HTH.

No worries about that as this is not email related and is a different tactic. It won't be merged Thanks for the heads up.
