Vista Not Found when VistaBootPRO 3.0 Loads

Postby martyfelker on Fri Sep 29, 2006 7:24 pm

VistaBootPRO says Vista has not been installed when first loaded but then works fine. Is this because I have dual boot (Vista Bootloader) with Winxpx64 on first partition? Since I use BootITNG (great program) I installed Vista on second partition but it THINKS it is C:. Anyway what's with the load message?
Windows XPx64 thinks it is on C:, Vista (hidden) is on D:. Vista thinks the reverse. Actually Vista is on second partition of first HD (x64) on first.

Hello and welcome to PROnetworks martyfelker!! Great question you have there; when you get a second, please stop by our Introduction Area so we can give you a PROwelcome.

More directly to your issue; could you give us some additional info on your setup? We need things like you HDD setup, whether it is IDE only or an IDE/SATA/RAID setup, as well as a screenshot of your disk management showing all Physical HDD's and partitions. Also the output from bcdedit.exe /enum would be a great help as well. Thanks and enjoy the site!!

Actually, I believe the message you are getting says "VistaBootPRO has detected that either Microsoft Windows Vista is not currently installed, or you may have an irregular drive configuration"

In your case it sees an irregular drive configuration so there should be no problems running the program. :yesnod:

This is quite true - I do have an irregular drive configuration. However after I changaed the Bootloader entry names to Windows XP x64 and Windows Vista RC1 the bootloader blue screen (well actually black screen!).
Fixed easily with RC1 rescue option but what happened? Anyway great and super quick response - very good program

I get this error and I don't consider my "setup" odd as far as hard drives go. I have a 160GB IDE with 3 partitions, Vista is installed on the first one, other two are hidden backup partitions. Then I have 3 SATA drives that are storage only.
