Doesn't Boot Camp auto create a dual boot menu?

It should, and the whole Mac OS X boot manager is a pain to deal with. I tried to setup a manual system boot one time when trying to install various flavors of Linux on an old Mac as well as FreeBSD and couldn't get any of them to work right when setting it up manually.

Um, I know this is kind of old, but I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in...
Assuming this is on a Mac and not a Hackintosh, I'd suggest rEFIt. I'm using it on my MacBookPro, and it automatically recognizes the OSX, WinXP, and Ubuntu 8.10 partitions and creates graphical options for them (OSX is the Apple, XP is that logo, and Ubuntu is Tux).
It's really easy to install and deal with, and its a nice-looking GUI when you turn the computer on

I can't help being unable to shake the feeling that the BCD store might deep down let you boot the UNIX-based Operating Systems like Mac OS and Unix, given that the Vista/2k8/W7 command line interface has also been based on UNIX, even though it's a separate language.
The Hacker in me tells me there's no real reason why the BCD store couldn't be used to boot Linux or Mac OS ... just that no-one in the Community has done the research/hacking needed to make it work...

It will let you do Linux and possibly Unix, but I don't think you're going to get Mac OS X booting from the Vista bootloader. Even Linux distributions that are made to run on Apple machines have to setup a special bootloader to get to Grub/Lilo due to the way the systems boot.
