Hi,

The only things that don't seem to make sence are:

"Copy to C:\ of Vista" (This is G:)

and

"Once these files are copied from G:\ to C:\" (It's actualy from C:/ to G:/)

"Add a new entry Legacy OS and Point it to G" ( this is C:/ where XP is)

There is currently 2 OS(s) installed in the boot manager.

Current timeout before default boots: 15

Default OS: Microsoft Windows Vista

Entry # 1

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Microsoft Windows Vista

BCD ID: {current}

Boot Drive: G:

Windows Drive: G:
S
ystem Bootloader: \Windows\system32\winload.exe

Windows Directory: \Windows

Entry # 2

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Windows XP

BCD ID: {ntldr}

Boot Drive: C:

Windows Drive:
System Bootloader: \ntldr

Windows Directory:

That is unless I am missing the mark alltogether :)

The VistaPro Boot menu appears, but The Windows XP option causes the same old error.

Make sure the three file fro XP drive C:\ are copied to drive G:\
I see you have them on both, make sure they are the same.

use VistaBootPro
Delete the entry for XP

add a new entry for Legacy/XP pointing to the drive that XP is installed on

see if that does the trick.

Recopied all 3 files (boot.ini, ntdetect, ntldr ) from C: the XP Drive to G: the Vista drive.

Deleted the XP entry from VistaBootPro 3.1

Added new operating System (Windows Legacy)
Called it Windows Xp
On Drive C:
Applied.

Rebooted, the boot menu appeared, Vista works fine, XP Blank Screen and hung :(

It simply does not seem to want to work

All this to run 1 program :-x
Although I still have to install other programs, but hesitate in case Vista crashes.

Try this:

While in Vista, run VistaBootPRO and UNINSTALL the Vista bootloader, then reboot. This SHOULD take you to XP directly (No Vista bootloader), at which point, INSTALL VISTABOOTPRO and run it, then REINSTALL THE VISTA BOOTLOADER (From XP) and reboot

Hi,

Following the above, XP did not boot (Black Screen)
ANd Vista Would not boot.

Had to boot into XP using Bios Boot Menu
Then run VistaBootPro and Make the relevant entries.

Rebooted.

VistaBoot menu.

Vista Boots

XP does not.

Had me worried a little there :)

Ok

You changed your boot order in BIOS and got into XP. If you want we go go about getting Vista working.

If you boot into XP then boot to Vista DVD and do a repair.

Hi,

Vista Works fine, the problem is the same as ever.

That is Vista will boot from VistaBoot menu but Xp won't.

If I want XP I have to use the Bios Boot Menu and boot to Disc 1

Vista is on Disc 0

This is the only way I can get into XP!

What I'm trying to say is boot to one and one only and let work on the other. If you go to swapping around you might loose it all.
