I have tried a few programs that play video files as my desktop background. What happens is when the first video plays it is fullscreen as normal, but when the second video plays (and all of them after that) the video shrinks to about 1/4th of the screen (you can see it in the screenshot). These videos are in Windows Media Video format (.wmv) and I tried AVI (they play for about one second and then skip to the next one) and MPEG. The programs I have tried are Magic Desktop wallpaper and Desktop Magician.

Hmmm... is the one that always plays full screen always the same one? For instance, if you take one that has played full screen and put it second, does it still shrink?

Why exactly would you want to do this anyway? I mean, when your at your computer you usually have something in front of your desktop anyway, and if you want to watch a movie you can just load it up. With it on your desktop, you have icons and stuff in front of it. Plus, depending on how long the videos are, that can probably kill your computer's performance by taking up a ton of RAM.

No, it doesn't matter whcih video it is. Also, it flickers for a second before playing the second (or later) video like it was going to play full screen, but then it shrinks.

what video codecs have you installed?, could be codec related. try uninstalling and reinstalling any installed codec. make sure you do not have different codecs installed they do conflict sometimes

All i have installed is Divx and I uninstalled it and tried it again with the same result. I also installed Xvid (after I uninstalled Divx) with the same result. Unless Windows comes with some codec, I don't know otherwise. It also uses very little memory becuase it uses the old media player that comes with Windows XP (version 6.4).

I have updated the drivers for 2 of my computers (both Nvidia Geforce's) and it did not do anything. I also have tried it on my laptop which has an ATI graphics card and the same result occured.

OK I'm lost now when it comes to playing as desktop. All I have ever used is WMP, PowerDVD, or similar
