Updating links in Dreamweaver 4

Updating links in Dreamweaver 4

Postby T-Man1984 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 12:03 am

I have a question.

Over the years I've made various different websites. I currently have one.

I just found all the folders (4) with all 4 different complete websites in them. All with their own index pages and file folders.

I uploaded them to my server, and have them in a folder called "archives".

Here is my problem. I want to be able to open the index page of each of the old sites, and change all the links to the new folder path, without having to open each page and change each link individually...which would take days...

I've had dreamweaver ask me to update links while working on my main site, but is it possible to make it do it on sub sites?

Thanks

If you setup new sites for each folder in Dreamweaver and point them to the correct location on the server, you should get the option to update links. If it didn't allow you to update links, you could use the Find/Replace tool and that has an option to search within all files of a site to find and replace things. That would take longer, but would still be faster than updating each individually.
