Look to the lower left, below the newest storm, that also just formed, Franklin.

Not likely... storms typically destroy on another, or one "swallows" the other.

However, it's not "impossible." At this rate... who knows.

If in fact we have a Franklin and Gert now, can anyone believe we're on G names already in July. Remember Charley last year? That was September and that was C.

You know I thought this thing was falling apart, but look at the wind speeds...

I think I saw something on what would happen if two storm came together. I think one would actually orbit around the other if it were to happen without them falling apart.

That depends on a number of factors though... including upper atmospheric conditions. One hurricane that close to another can blow the other out of the water (literally). I wish I had those pics of the Typhoon I saw doing that.

Get might still be in our future... while currently going over land, the tropical wave is "very strong" according to NOAA and "has good chances for development" of a TD/TS in the Gulf of Mexico.

We'll know more in 24-48 hours.

I don't know if it was from the same TD or not but I just found out that there is Tropical Storm Gert and it made landfall in Mexico.

Sure enough it was the same system... :yesnod:

Not a very impressive system, but still, strange to already be on G.
