It's been years since I've been in the water, but I'm thinking of going to JBay for a few months in the not too distant future. I've still got a wetsuit and an old Nat Young shaped board in a friends garage at Port Elizabeth. Both are probably perished and degraded by now :)

Maybe your friend at Port Elizabeth would lend you one of his boards for a couple of sessions, I would, I'd even paddle out w/ ya.
There is also a chance your Nat Young is still ridable, I have a couple in the garage rack that date back to the mid 80's & they are still hard.

It's been awhile since I took to the water, but I'd love to shoot an event like that. Our "waves" are maybe 8 feet high max, and that's during a storm. Typically, they're more like 3-4 feet.
