Substituent for MVC++ 1.5

Hi!

I wonder if I do not have Microsoft Visual C++ 1.5 (Professional) can I substitute that with something else?

I have a PDT6800 portable terminal used in barcode applications. I visit producer site to find how can I develop a application for that machine (it's a hand held device with keypad and a small display, governed by DR-DOS 3.x). Even I download from there a kind of SDK, but to develop apps (on 16 bit) must have MVC++ 1.5 or 2.0. At this time, from where I can buy (or else) such software? Anyone have any ideea from where, or what I can use like a substitute? Apps must be developed under 16 bits DOS machine and transfered via COM port to device with a special vendor program...

Thx in advance!!
