stupid keyboard problems

stupid keyboard problems

Postby nightfire » Wed Jun 04, 2008 1:58 am

So, this is a sorta funny question, but i just got a laptop to repair and there is a bad problem with the keyboard.

The number 2 does not work, except every once in a while it will often start acting as if it is being held and won't stop.

This is incredibly annoying, especially with passwords :-x :-x :-x :-x

Does anyone know what i can do for this? can i disable that key somehow?

Well thanks for reading

There's a program called KeyTweak that will let you disable individual keys. As far as fixing it though, not much you can do with a laptop keyboard other than unplug it and rap on it a few times.

I hear they take the keyboards out and then use distilled water to clean them, not that I would try it myself. I would try a can of air, to see if you can clear whatever is making the key stick , as it sounds like there may be something stuck in the spring

Well pure distilled water should have no conductive properties... of course I'd wait for it to dry before you put it back in lol.
