stop the bots please

I have about 8 or 9 bots try to join my forum every day. I have it set for my approval so they can sign up but not post. The problem is that they all have links to porn and such in their profiles. Although they cannot post, they still show up on the front page as a new member, with a profile.
So I have to manually delete each fake user.
pain in the butt.

How can I fix this?

I did this: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 1#p1259171 and it helped a little bit, but i'm still getting bot registrations. I also have the phpBB humanizer mod installed as well as the captcha graphic. I really have no idea how to completely keep them from registering unfortunately, but if you do find anything, I'd be interested in trying it out as well.
