pronet needs to add some counter measures against spammers. i see lots of registered spammers onsite now...

i have installed a phpbb3 addon on another site, and its working quite well, our spam registrants have dropped by 99%, in the last 8m, we have had 1 get through.

That is a good link. We use that on the site, I admin. We manually validate all new members, though. Got to have the owner look up that add-on,
Just a mention, but we get sleepers. They register an un-listed IP (unlisted @StopForumSpam) and then pop up months later.
I'm also seeing intelligent spammers, at a major tech site, who should know better. They post related links, in the help forums. It's spam disguised as helpful links. Not as bad as Ugg boots, but.......

as I get time I do check the new registered members against stop forum spam website, it is just alot for one person to do

I do that too, tho not real often.
At least that way one doesnt have to waste the spam post.
