Splinter Cell

Tom Clancey's Splinter Cell has had console gamers addicted since Christmas, so the PC conversion should be welcomed with open arms. Although it doesn't feature much in the way of multi-player options, it's such a big release we just couldn't ignore it. Using the Unreal graphics engine, this game is all about stealth, tactics and patience.

Each of the 11 levels are built with interactive scenery, which needs to be used and manipulated to progress. The graphics and lighting effects are simply outstanding, while the varied weapon choice will please the most bloodthirsty of players.

If there's one disadvantage, it's the case of trial and error. You will find yourself repeating levels over and over until you get it right and that might just infuriate some players. For everyone else, it's a must have.
