Slackware?

I've downloaded slackware onto my 500mhz AMD PC WinXP Pro I want to duel boot it with Slackware, Do I have to burn slackware onto a CD or can I just install it?

Technically speaking, there is a way to install slackware without burning to a CD. It is called Zipslack, and available at their website. You don't want this though, as it doesn't include everything that a guru needs.

Duel booting will be quite simple. You will want to let LILO (Linux Loader) handle the booting between windows and linux. Before you install LILO though, make sure to back up your Master Boot record.

Glad to see someone around here running an old-school/hardcore distro like Slack. It is what I learned linux on, and what I will always use (along with Debian).

A buddy of mine and I mocked this pic up a couple of months ago paying homage to the original linux distro: slackware...

The primary purpose of the DATA statement is to give names to constants; instead of referring to pi as 3.141592653589793 at every appearance, the variable PI can be given that value with a DATA statement and used instead of the longer form of the constant. This also simplifies modifying the program, should the value of pi change.
