Single Click In Windows XP

Single Click In Windows XP

I want to switch to Single Click to open programs from the Desktop. When I go to Folder Options to change this the Single Click button is "GRAYED OUT", can not select it. It is set on Double Click. Any solution to this that anyone knows of?

Hmmm...I just looked...did you try to restore defaults and then try to recheck it again?

I have reset this several times to default and it is still doesn't change anything. Something else is weird also. Everytime I uncheck the Classic folder option and change it, the next time I look at it the Classic folder option is selected again.

Only a suggestion, are you making the change while logged in with administrative rights. This may work.

I am logged in as administrator. Still doing the same thing. I may try reinstalling XP.
