Shut Down

Postby Rayl » Wed Jan 23, 2002 6:24 pm

A friend has a new Compact computer running Windows XP Home. When she shuts the computer down using the start menu, the tower shuts off, the monitor goes yellow,(I assume from no signal from the cpu)but the keyboard has a light that says it is in standby mode. To turn the computer back on she has to hit the power button as usual. Any ideas about this standby mode the keyboard is reporting? Thanks for any help. Cheers

actually, yeah, it's in standby, just as the computer says, i dont know why the shutdown button would be linking to the standby mode. Tell her to get Professional. It'll be alot more stable, and a lot less bugs. Tell her to also try updating windows, so she is able to download all the patches.
