Hiya,
I have Windows, Vista Home Premium, 64 bit. Love love love it so far. Not many regrets to be honest but there is one that's really got my goat.
I really have come to appreciate and expect my right click menu (shell) to be chocked full of commands that I use all the time. Programs like Win Zip commands, "FileMenu Tools", "OpenExpert", "Unlocker", "Folder Cache" and others. All installed and tweaked to allow for shell integration but nothing is showing up. If I select a bunch of items and right click WinZip's shell commands are missing. If I want to assign a program to the "OpenWith" command, can't, program shell integration seems to be non existent.
Except for one dead give away. I work with 3D content in my spare time and use a program called P3dO Explorer Pro to browse my Poser files. It's a proper Explorer of sorts and works kinda sorta like explorer but is geared more for exploring images and 3d content more than anything else. Funny thing is though, when I right click on an object in that program guess what?? All my shell context stuff is there.
So how the heck do I get this all working in Vista 64 bit explorer and why in Sam's Hill did MS, in it's infinite wisdom, decide to make it so impossible to make use of very useful programs and commands in this "better" version of explorer?? Seems a bit backwards thinking to me!!
I've asked all around but no one can help so far. I've turned to this forum many a times in the past for answers and usually someone comes through. So here's hoping.
Thanks much
Richard ;-)~
