It could be that a lot more people are tired of war, the economy, etc. thousands and thousands of people have lost their homes, and I think it has been orchestrated more than people want to admit, or believe.
I for one, am tired of the old regime, and I am looking to Obama for a difference, maybe it will be the same, but I don't think so and only time will tell. I don't see any possibility of a change with McCain, and maybe that is what his supporters want, continuity, their lives to maintain their status quo and screw everyone else.

Was it a stupid mistake on the campaigns fault? Absolutely. They should immediately resolve it if they actually did make a mistake.

But remember, these people are only human and humans make mistakes. Don't crucify his campaign over a mistake like this, even if you don't support/aren't going to vote for McCain in November.

Jeez, sometimes I get the feeling that this board is so partisan it is unbelievable.

Sorry Will, but "this sort of thing" does NOT "happen all the time." Not at all. Where do you get the idea that they "routinely" use songs in commercials without permission? Please show me.

Humans make mistakes? Well, this is a big one. It's NOT a little mistake. Especially not if you're the person who wrote the song and you know that your livelihood depends on royalties from that song being used in commercials.

And please read back over my posts. Partisan? I specifically made the point that I would be as outraged if it was Obama's campaign. Maybe even more so because I expect more from them.

Again, I've been in the entertainment business for 40 years. Nobody knows more than I do about music licensing and copyright laws. Using a song in a TV commercial without permission is a very serious matter.

I feel like both candidates will bring about change, just that the change brought on by McCain will only be subtle and not what is really needed to fix what is wrong. McCain will probably help with things some here at home, but I doubt anything will change with international relations unfortunately, and that is something that really needs to be fixed. I also feel that any economic issues, such as our current one would take longer to get fixed just due to his lack of understanding of the economy and his economic advisers.

As for people being critical of a small mistake, you know that if Obama did the same thing, Republicans and supporters of McCain would be doing the exact same thing, or possibly worse, so I don't see why anyone should give the McCain campaign a break.

It looks like this wasn't the McCain campaign's first transgression either. Where's the RIAA when you need them?:roleeyes

Earlier this year, John Mellencamp asked the McCain campaign to

One would have thought that a stern memo would have been circulated to make sure that this type of behaviour is not condoned by the party after the first instance, I am John McCain and I approve this message. I just don't get it! :confused

Unbelievable, they are suppose to be trying to be our future leaders and this is the example they are setting, BRAVO, I see what you mean by change, first it was stealing from a man, and now you have changed to stealing from woman, but come on now, there are lots of other genres left, pop, country western, jazz, R&B, classical etc. If you are to be politically correct, you can't leave any other them out.
