Repair and Recover Files from Corrupt BKF File

Anyone know of a FREE tool or a way into a corrupt BKF file? Found several ranging from $50 on up, but am doing this as a favor for someone and cant justify spending, well anything on it.

I have never tried fixing one.

Can you look inside using notepad?

Fixed. I didnt think to try notepad.
