Removing Internet Explorer 7

Removing Internet Explorer 7

Postby Achilles » Sat Mar 04, 2006 11:16 pm

I've been having a few problems with IE7 just lately, so I decided to remove it. However, this doesn't seem to work as smoothly as expected. Everything is going fine until it reaches the bit where it is "Updating [the] Registry", it just seems to stop here. I have run through this operation 3 times now (using system restore after each attempt) and every time it gets here, i've left it running for upwards of 2 hours with no success!

Can someone please help me get rid of it? :x ^*^

I've been through the guide but it just gets as far as updating registry and seems to stall!

That however appears to be the least of my troubles now as after installing norton antivirus 2006 the laptop will no longer even logon to windows! It's driving me mad! :enough:

?? boot and try last good known working *****

for error have you done a SFC /Scannow ???

Also boot F8 safe mode and try a system restore from safe mode -
should show calendar and go back before ie7 installment
