These storms drench the SE so bad bc as they come inland... they have a tail like a comet on them pulling all this warm moist air out of the gulf. As it impacts the northern air coming down in fronts, and the Atlantic air, it just makes the bucket drop... rains cats and dogs.

It's the same reason you see bad tornado's in the mid-west. Arctic air mets that warm moist air from the gulf... bam... tornadoes.

Ivan was a trip last fall. I was at school and the susquehanna is notorius for flooding. I think I have pictures at home that I can post tonight of the boathouse and some of town. I'll see if I can find some.

Crap, I just got to Florida for business and I am going to be here until the 30th of August. I wonder how much work I will be able to do outside this coming weekend... :-?
