Trillian basic works on x64, but for some reason the msn plugin crashes it. But aol support is ok.

Works but will not update:

CA eTrust Antivirus v8.0

This one baffles me. It installed but it won't update. It keeps saying "Update Initiated" when I click update, but nothing happens. Security Center says it's out of date. I used 7.1 on Vista 5270 and it worked fine. It was a 30-day trial so even though I tried 7.1 again, it wouldn't update either, but i figured that was because the trial ran out.

Works:

Avast Antivirus 4.6

For the eTrust AV updates, you should download the definitions (full versions, NOT incremental) from the site and manually install them.

This should be done in Admin mode, and if you are keeping UAC enabled, you need to run the real time monitor in Admin compatability mode.

After you have done this, future updates will be installed automatically :yesnod:

Hmm...it did not work that way when I installed the Trial on 5270. So after trying my previous Trial and that didn't work, registering again under a different email, waiting for the email, uninstalling the old one, downloading and installing the new one, etc. etc., when it still didn't work again, that bell went off in my head saying "you've been at this for an hour and it's not worth it" and I just installed Avast. I went through the same routine on 5270 only with NOD32. I'm staying with Avast at this point. If I have to reinstall, I'll try that method. :yesnod: Thanks. I wish I had known about that before.

Yes, it took me quite a while to work out how to get that job done, and I only persevered because the eTrust AV is the only one that I've found that works in a satisfactory way in the Vista x64 :roleeyes
