Problem with Router

Postby blodger14 on Mon Oct 06, 2008 4:57 pm

I'm having some trouble with my Buffalo Airstation.

i bought it a while back and everything was working fine, but now it seems to refuse to port forward.

I can tell it to forward the port, and it shows up as forwarded but as soon as i test the port, it tells me its not forwarded, and no matter what i do it doesnt seem to forward.

if anyone can help it would be appreciated

To test whether or not it's forwarded, are you using some web service? If so, do you happen to have any firewalls running on the machine that should have its ports forwarded? And are you sure it's set for port forwarding and not port triggering?

If you checked everything and it's still not working, maybe a factory reset will clear things up?

Could just try to restart the router. I've had it happen already where changes were saved but not applied properly and restarting the router applied the changes.

FYI with most routers, after you make a change to the firmware settings, you need to restart it. normally this happens on its own, however sometimes it doesn't.

the reason being your IP needs to be reset in the router for the changes to take effect on your PC(s).
so most times a simple >ipconfig /renew will do the trick.
