What do you mean when you say "without a hitch?" Do you mean that the upgrade wiped out 03?

I have another rig with 03 on it (my x64) on which I am going to install 07 today and see what happens. :yesnod:

There are conflicting reports about the results of 2k3 > 2k7 Office Upgrade --- some lucky guys have reported that the upgrade does what it's supposed to, but others report (and I'm one of them :yesnod: ) that it leaves both 2k3 and 2k7 on your system, with random effects on default software data ...

Personally, I tend to just clean install the 2k7 and forget about the earlier version ... ;)

At least it isn't just me. I actually don't mind having both. And the slight inconvenience it initially caused is trivial.

I guess one of the issues is that Office supports upgrading and combining elements of all Office versions from 2000 onwards, so that any combination of software from any various 2000 > XP > 2003 > 2007 versions can theoretically work together.

Add upgrades and service packs, and really there's such a large variety of existing Office System installation possibilities that it's not so surprising that variable upgrade results can occur ... ;)

It's also (still) fairly likely that some versions of Office 2003 may be upgrade-incompatible with some Beta versions of Office 2007 ;)

...

I hope they do a Beta 3 for this one :yesnod:

I personally dislike the 2k7, but that's just because I dislike ALL first editions of Office :yesnod:

...

Hate 97, love 2k

Dislike XP, love 2k3

For the time being, dislike 2k7 ... etc ... :P

I hated XP edition of Office, but 2003 was good and IMO 2007 will be better. I wish you could switch between layout... new users will miss the drop down menus.
