Insider Build 18947 - Information and How To Rollback

Hello Insiders!

We’d like to share information with you regarding build 18947 as released to Windows Insider audiences earlier today. We’ll cover what happened and how to revert your device to your desired state.

Who: Windows Insiders who installed build 18947

What: Insiders who installed this build, especially those in the Slow and Release Preview rings, will need to use the rollback function to restore to their previous build

Why: An internal preview build was unintentionally released to a broader audience than expected.

When: Affected users generally have ten days (10) after installing build 18947 to complete the rollback process before losing the ability to do so. If you have Storage Sense enabled, this time window may be reduced. We encourage affected users to complete this action as soon as possible to ensure they’re able to roll back successfully. Steps to complete a rollback are provided below.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18963

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18963 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

If you want a complete look at what build is in which Insider ring, head over to Flight Hub. You can also check out the rest of our documentation here including a complete list of new features and updates that have gone out as part of Insider flights for the current development cycle.

Not seeing any of the features in this build? Check your Windows Insider Settings to make sure you’re on the Fast ring. Submit feedback here to let us know if things weren’t working the way you expected.

*This is kind of nice:
GPU temperature comes to Task Manager

One of the longstanding requests we’ve been tracking for Task Manager is to add temperature monitoring support, and with today’s build we’re making progress on that ask. If you have a dedicated GPU card, we will now bubble up the current temperature next to its listing in the Performance Tab.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18965

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18965 (20H1) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

What’s new in Build 18965
Control over restarting apps at sign-in

As some of you already know, apps have the ability to register for restart, which helps in a few situations, including enabling you to get back to what you were doing if you need to restart your PC. Previously this option was tied to the “Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device” option under Sign-in options in accounts settings. We’ve heard feedback that some of you would prefer more explicit control over when Windows automatically restarts apps that were open when you restart your PC, and with 20H1 we’re bringing that option to you.
