Here is info on:
How to: upgrade from previous versions of Windows using Windows 10 ISO file

Technical Level : Basic

>snip<
Please be aware that you cannot use the free upgrade offer to perform a clean install on first attempt. You must first upgrade from the qualifying version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 (whether you do it through Windows Update or using the .ISO file). Ensure the upgrade is completed successfully and then ensure that it is activated. You can then proceed to do a clean install by using recovery media or using the Reset function in Start > Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC (Get Started).

Well that was nice, I opened up Hyper-V on my W8.1 host & it automatically started updating several files.
One of them was the 10158 build.
I had build 10130 PRO x64 installed & now its auto updated to build 10158.
I had my advanced updates set to the Fast ring in build 10130.

Whoa! Another PC build!

So we have something of a surprise for you today! Our last build to the Windows Insider Fast ring was just yesterday, but we’re following it up with another build today – Build 10159, releasing to the Fast ring.

Why two builds so fast back to back?! As you probably know, we validate builds that we produce in internal rings where they’re used by engineers in OSG and Microsoft. If they pass all of our criteria we make them available to Windows Insiders, first to Fast and then to Slow once we know it’s a stable build. We’d been using 10158 for almost a week and knew it was going to be a strong build, and the data backed that up so we released it yesterday. Hot on its heels though was build 10159, which in addition to more fixes (over 300 of them!), took in one very interesting change. We didn’t want to wait with 10158 so we went ahead and released that build while we were still evaluating 10159. As it turns out though, 10159 is also a great build and passes our criteria for the Windows Insider Fast ring.

Getting close to Windows 10 RTM

Build 10240 now available for Windows Insiders in Fast and Slow rings

Hi everyone, today we are releasing a new build to both the Fast and Slow rings. We’re just about two weeks away from beginning to offer Windows 10 to the world, as Terry detailed here. Over the past few days we’ve been preparing our release pipelines and processes, and this build is one step closer to what customers will start to receive on 7/29. For example, you’ll notice with this build that the desktop watermark is no longer there (you can still do Search > Winver to see your version number.

Yesterday I found the MS windows 10 download tool.
It worked really good for updating my Win7 & Win8.1 OSs to Win10 RTM.
It also worked great for downloading the media for flash drive or DVD (ISO).

If you are tired of waiting for the auto Win10 update app. to start I recommend using this tool

If you need to install or reinstall Windows 10, you can use the tools on this page to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or a DVD.
