Windows 10 – New information

For those who wish to use the Windows Technical Preview, you will be required to join this new Insider Program and sign an agreement saying you allow Microsoft to update your build when it needs to be updated. The Windows Technical Preview is a dynamic test, meaning Microsoft will continue to update it with new builds constantly, adding and removing features, as well as fixing (and creating new) bugs.
The Insider Preview has also been put in-place to iron out users who wish to just play with the builds. Microsoft wants feedback, and the operating system will even prompt you to give feedback after completing certain tasks like sending an email or customizing the Start Menu.

Note: according to the above link the Technical Preview will not be released on September 30 but early October.

Yes I have, joined the "Insider Program" too.
Have you downloaded it yet Dan?
I installed the x64 flavor on a test rig, it took 18 minutes, incl. 2 restarts. Tweaked the new start menu so I could have the start desktop, it looks a bit like Windows 8.1 now.

Tested installing DBP 1.1 & after adding the .NET 3.0 & 3.5 & running it in (Win7) compatibility mode it runs like a dream ;)

Thought I'd try out the Enterprise flavor of this TP.

Installed VMware 9.02 in the W10 x64 TP then 1/2 hr. later installed the W10 Enterprise TP (x64), it runs great & AFACT appears very much the same as the PRO version of the TP.

This time I didn't use a MS account & used my local UN & PW & wont be in the insider program w/ this one.

I found a .reg hack to allow the PC Settings/Preview builds page to show more information, it also (may) add to what is showing in Event viewer. In these screenys none of the settings were changed.
On another install I did tweak the "Change branch" to winmain, still no updated Preview build though.
