Re: Windows (code name) Blue - New information
The little that I have had time to mess with 8.1 I have found it to be better than Windows 8 at least, still happy with Windows 7

Hey Rob, long-time-no-see
There is some speculation on Windows 9 & Windows 10 but they all need to taken all of these w/ a pinch of salt, IMO

I snagged a copy of 8.1 PRO x64 RTM & installed it on the (weak) test rig 2, used my $14.99 upgrade key to activate it & jumped through some hoops but got .NET3.5 installed along w/ DBP1.1

Well the 8.1 General Availability (GA) is Oct. 17, 2013 so only a few days off.
I have been reading that MS has a GA 'Rollup A' that has leaked online, wonder if they will have a updated one 'B' by Thursday

Re: Windows (code name) Blue - New information
I tested the Windows Store 8.1 (free) update from Windows 8.
It was easy & fast, just opened the store (no MS account needed) & click the large picture w/ the update offering.
Using my old Win8.0 TechNet key worked fine, all my apps & settings were saved to 8.1
