I have a laptop with windows 8 pre-installed for example

Can I easily install windows 7 as a second OS dual booting with my pre-installed win 8 using dual boot pro?

DBPro can be used to edit the BCD & boot manager settings.

Never tried on a preinstalled W8 OEM laptop.
Normally its recommended to install the newest OS after the older, not the older after the newest.
It should work fine I would think, you may have to tweak your BIOS first though to get W7 to run.
Using the W8 Disk Mgmt tools to shrink & create a new partition (thats how I do mine).

Thank you very much for your response, but not the exact answer i was looking. Your answer seems unsure and uncertain.

My computer comes with windows 8 pre-installed and I do not wish to damage that installation in any way when i attempt to install windows 7 so I need a more confident and positive response so I can go ahead and not worry about anything going wrong. Also I am thinking of using the software called dual boot pro to simplify my dual boot process so my question is also to dual boot pro users or experts to ask how easy the process will be with windows 8.

Also what will need tweaking in bios? the boot order?

Once you get W7 installed you can use DBPro to tweak your BCD/Boot Mgr settings in W7 or W8. In W8 you need to run it in copatibility mode.

So is dual boot pro not supposed to help me with my installation before I install my second os?

I thought that dual boot pro helped simplify my dual boot process.

According to what ur saying i install my second os which is windows 7 first and then install dual boot pro. I don't get it?

So the installation of my new windows 7 can some how disrupt or damage my windows 8 installation? and then installing dual-bbot pro i can fix it?

Sounds like i might need a 2nd,3rd and maybe 4th opinion

Mate have you got any test systems where you can do a fresh install of only windows 8 and then install windows 7 after as a dual boot. Maybe this way you could better help me and others like me on here. As it stands it sounds like you never done it this way before from what your telling me and your only second guessing.

Ill really appreciat it as i really need to get this done

I have done an install of Win 8 and then installed Win 7 without issue, but that is not the same as having a factory pre installed OS. Pre installed usually have a recovery partition that is hidden or otherwise maybe inaccessible and may or may not cause issues with the installation, I believe it would not.
Dual boot pro is a graphical interface used to make changes to your BCD easier.

You probably should create your "Recovery" disk before doing anything else.
